PIRL - Pedagogical Innovation Research Lab

PIRL is a research and development lab at the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Education. PIRL is busy developing new models of learning and ways to implement them using advanced technologies. PIRL offers opportunities for educational technology research to Graduate School students interested in becoming research fellows and work with PIRL exploring its new develpments.

So far, PIRL has been working on the production of four types of projects:

• ELM (Eye-Light Monitor)
• The MAZE
• KnoWorld Maze in Second Life
• S-AI-L (Simulated, Adventure Inspired, Learning)
• Muze: for those who are interested in building a Maze in museums, education centers, schools and art galleries.
• Think
• Augmented Reality, Situated Learning
